Over the past few years the website for Library and Archives Canada has undergone a number of changes. For some long-time users of the old site, this has caused moments of frustration. Join us for this virtual session where Ken will take us through a look at the new site, touch upon using the new census search system, and explore other resources they have made available to us.

About Our Speaker:

Ken McKinlay's is an award-winning genealogist whose family tree research started over twenty years ago with three simple family stories that he wanted to confirm or refute. Even though the truths behind those initial tales have been uncovered, more questions continue to surface needing answers. Although initially making use of the Internet as his primary means of locating relevant documents, he now also spends time in archives and libraries looking for those hard to find clues and documents. He has given talks and workshops for various branches of Ontario Ancestors, British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa, and various Ontario Public Libraries. He has a genealogy related blog at Family Tree Knots where he shares the methodologies that he uses in his own research.

Skills Learned: Information literacy, Technology literacy, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking.

Please note: This session will not be recorded.
