AuditoriumThis 1-hour talk is an invitation to those who are interested in knowing more about End-of-Life Care, Dying, Death and Grief. 18+
Most people know little or nothing about what happens in the final days of one's life or the complexity of experiencing grief. The facilitator will give an overview of each topic and will invite attendees to participate in a short discussion after the presentation. If you are curious and would like to enhance your knowledge of End-of-life transitions and bereavement, join the conversation and take charge of your own journey.
This presentation is facilitated by Anne Stewart from Holding Space Halton.
About the Presenter:
Anne is an internationally trained nurse specialized in Palliative and Oncology care. After moving to Canada in 2015, she completed her studies in Social Service Work with a specific focus on Gerontology supporting the community in Grief and End-of-Life Care. She is a certified Home Hospice Association Death Doula and has completed post-graduate studies in Thanatology at Humber College. Anne is a Last Aid Course Facilitator for the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association, a committee member of the Townsend Smith Foundation and also volunteers at a local hospice. In 2024, she started her private practice Holding Space Halton. She is a well-rounded specialist in the field of death care, with a blend of medical knowledge and additional training in psycho-social, emotional and spiritual support for the bereaved and persons at the end of life.
This presentation coincides with the National Hospice Palliative Care Week which occurs May 4 -10, 2025

With a new facility slated for 2028, the new Central Branch is set to become a landmark building for Downtown Oakville. Guided by community insight, the redesigned library branch will offer flexible and accessible spaces that celebrate Oakville’s history, support lifelong learning, and promote community connections.
