Scratch Coding: Intermediate

Ready to take your Scratch skills to the next level? In this intermediate workshop, you will learn advanced game design techniques to build more complex and dynamic projects. 10-14yrs

You will dive into cloning, custom functions, and event broadcasting to create multilevel games, inventories and even cut scenes.  By the end, you will have a polished game packed with professional features-ready to share with friends and family!

This workshop is led by volunteers from STEM from Scratch, a high school student led organization providing STEM opportunities to students.

What you will learn:

• Create power-ups and multi-level systems
• Organize code with custom function blocks
• Store data using lists
• Design cutscenes with broadcast events
• Build a game from start to finish

Requirements

• A laptop with internet access
• Basic familiarity with Scratch (i.e. movement, loops)

Who should attend:

• Scratch users ready to tackle more advanced projects
• Aspiring game designers aged 10-14
