OPL and LivingWorks are offering SafeTALK, a half-day training program that teaches participants to recognize and engage persons who might be having thoughts of suicide.
In this program, led by trainer Cindy Pestrak, participants will recognize persons who might be having thoughts of suicide and connect them with community resources trained in suicide intervention.
SafeTALK stresses safety while challenging taboos that inhibit open talk about suicide.
At a safeTALK workshop, you'll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, engaging someone, and connecting them to an intervention resource for further support.
A skilled, supportive trainer will guide you through the course, and a community resource will be on hand to support your safety and comfort.
