Join local Nigerian-Canadian author Ekiuwa Aire for a walk through African cultures through stories, discussion, and activities. Ages 4-12
Ekiuwa Aire is an award-winning, Nigerian-Canadian, children's book author who is passionate about building an interest and knowledge of African history through stories and activities. Ekiuwa is making a substantial contribution to the preservation of African heritage and culture with her books. Her debut title, Idia of the Benin Kingdom, has been the recipient of many awards, including the Children's Africana Book Awards, Kidsshelf Book Awards, and Eric Hoffer Book Awards. Her second book is titled Njinga of Ndongo and Matamba.

Located within the Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, Iroquois Ridge Branch is home to a large collection of materials, study spaces, and a Creation Zone. The branch hosts a variety of programs for all ages, with a particular focus on new and emerging technologies, such as virtual reality and Tinker Toys. Parking is free.
