Program RoomJoin Brain Power Enrichment Programs CEO, Vanessa Iarocci, and Halton & Peel Headmaster, Dr. Cassandra Chapman, for a 2-hour workshop on the art of persuasion, public speaking, and debate. Grades 6-8
Presented by Brain Power Enrichment Programs
During this interactive workshop, students will be introduced to Aristotle’s theory of rhetoric (ethos, pathos and logos) and principles of effective arguments. They will then learn about formal debate, with a focus on developing rebuttal and counterargument skills. Students will then participate in a mini-debate and debrief with fellow participants. The workshop will end with an open discussion and Q&A.
Registration is required.

Located within White Oaks Secondary School in central Oakville, the White Oaks Branch is home to a large collection of titles, study spaces, and a large lounge area. The branch hosts a variety of programs for all ages, with a particular focus on family programs. Parking is free.
